Nice suprise..

I got a nice suprise a few days ago...one of the bead groups I'm in wrote me and asked if they could feature one of my necklaces on thier front page for a bit...that was nice :)
 

A Maui Wedding for Chris and Rianna

Meet Chris and Rianna French! They came all the way from Canada to get 'Mauied' on July 22, 2006 :)
Rianna is the sweetest person and I was so hoping to have a beach day the day of her wedding as her wedding was at one of our favorite beaches and Rianna thought we might be there. Unfortunately it worked out that I had family in from the mainland that day and a big family BBQ at my house...I was happy to see my visiting family of course but would have loved to have met Rianna in person and given her a lei. Congratulations you guys and Mahalo Rianna for trusting me to create jewelry for your wedding and for being so fun to work with!  


Rianna chose this necklace and had me create a matching bracelet and earrings for her beach wedding.

here is the wedding party...love the blue of the dresses...they look so nice with the clear blue sky and the blue ocean


The bridesmaids jewelry was strung on light blue silk cord with blue and white pearls and sweet little jonquil colored Swarovski crystals. The pendants are mother of pearl.

upsetting news

This is my dad (step..since I was 5)...he had a heart attack on Sunday :( Now he needs a quadruple bypass surgery..maybe more..but they said there are at least 4 clogged arteries. He's scared..we are scared...especially because my dad is trying to talk the docs into letting him out early. His surgery probably wont' be for a couple weeks because they are trying to get it ironed out with medicaid. He was layed off from his job a month ago so is uninsured. Not the best timing :\ But he says he feels fine...so I'm glad he's not in pain. If he goes home I'm sure both my sister and I will be spending a lot of time up there staying wtih him while my mom has to work...there is no way he should be alone. He's a big guy..I just hope he will listen to us when we tell him to stay put!

More summer time pictures...

trying to catch up on photo posting...heres some snippets from our family day aka..our 18th anniversary....I can't beleive it's been that long already! It's all gone so fast! Especially since I have known my hubby since we were only 11 :)

This particular day Jonara Blu Maui was supposed to have a booth at the new Surfing Dairy Goat Farm "Best of Maui" Fair ....I was so excited about it as it was taking over a very large annual fair we have had here on Maui for many years. However when I went to pay for it I discovered it fell on our anniversary...so that idea went down the drain fast! Hubby agreed that since we were gonna spend the next day together picnicing in Lahaina at the beach..he would bring me to the fair to check out it :) I LOVE craft fairs..love seeing what everyone has made and finding gifts for friends and loved ones. It's probably because I make a hand-crafted item myself..but there is just something more about crafty things that I find so much more special then manufactured. ..and this fair had ono food made by local farm fresh veggies too with a cooking show and huge free samples...yum! :P the picture of the salad there was amazing..it had spinache, watermelon, greek olives, fresh fenel (that is so good! I'd never had it before..definitley want to get some more!) and a soft spreadable goat cheese with pepper in it. I forget the dressing..it was vinegar and kind of sweet.  
*edit...I was trying to be creative and do a picture collage..guess what looked good on photoshop doesn't look to good here..came out so tiny and even when you click on it..it's a bit distorted. Oh well...

Summertime Fun/Anklet Sale!

I get excited about the summer still..even though I do live in basically year round summer here in Hawaii. Still we do get cooler weather here on Maui in the winter, especially upcountry where I live. I love that about upcountry. It can get really cold here..in the 40's at night sometimes..esp up higher on the mtn.

I pretty much melt in the heat..but still summertime just feels happy :) Guess it's all those years spent in school always looking forward to summer break...summer will always be attached to that even though I've been out of school for way too many years now ;-)

I love watching the kids have fun...I..being the healthfood nut that I am..even bought the kids a giant pack of horribly cheap sugary ice pops yesterday. The pack was huge and only something like 2.98 at Walmart. My husband and his buddies saw me putting it away in the freezer in the garage and the looks on their faces all reminded me of little kids..they all wanted one so bad lol! They weren't frozen yet..so I had to tell them to wait till next time...they did look quite disappointed haha!

Water fights can be seen pretty regularly over here too...it's been the alternative to swimming at the neighborhoods pool across the street from us this summer..sadly it's gotten over used and they have to keep shutting it down for cleaning. I'm just glad they are monitoring it real well.
