Showing some love..

Here are a few pieces I've made for family members and friends recently..

This cool triple pendant boho necklace went to my sister...it has a colorful array of many different stones..mostly jaspers..the front middle pendant is Peruvian opal

These earrings are still waiting for their new home with my sister to match her necklace above...

This Boho Beachy necklace also went to my sister to hopefully match some earrings she bought from another friend jewelry designer that has beach glass in them. This has glass pearls and fire polish glass faceted beads with a pendant of hami jasper and synthetic chalcedony briolette.

This peacock pearl and Paua abalone shell crocheted necklace just went to a friend visiting from the mainland who used to live here. She also got one hot off the press..no pics because I literally just finished making it..it was turquoise blue crystal and a Hill Tribe silver little Honu charm for a pendant...super sparkly and cute!

There were a couple of necklaces and a bracelet that went out to a friend and my sis in law that I didn't get pictures of..kinda bummed about that..it's always nice to at least have a pic for memories sake..I tend to get attached to any piece I'm working on ;-)

My beading table misses me....and other tidbits

I miss my beading area :( I'm trying to get a head start on gathering my tax info though because I have two businesses to do it for and I"m so bad at keeping up all year. The biggest reason I'm behind is that I am sitting here at this desk too much instead of the one right next to it w/ my other more boring job. I'm hoping to spread it out more evenly this year so I don't neglect either and then don't have to stay away from the fun too long. This is what I say every year...so we will see!

Had my nephews over to spend the night Thursday night..it's been a while. Major lego action going on in the living room. I should have taken a picture after the war. This was the boundary set up to minimize fighting and the claims that "HEY I had that first!"... "no it was all the way on my side of the border so you couldn't have!" Worked pretty good for about an hour!

Koa and I made brownies.

...behind him on the table you can see the puzzle that drove us crazy! It's of Time Square in NY..many years ago because Jay Leno looks awfully thinner and there are advertisements up for the Flinestone movie and for Speed lol! Kana, Koa's brother helped us finish it..finally!!!

This one came in a box w/ about 7 other puzzles, so because of this shared space you only get a small picture on front and a small one inside. We had to use a magnifying glass to find where pieces went. Hard on the eyes..but kind of a fun challenge all in itself

Then Friday night we went to my brothers In'laws house..it was he and his wife Charme's 10th anniversary. Forgot to take my camera off macro so got some blurry pics :( Here are a bunch of us true local style Aloha Friday in the garage hanging out ;-)

and here is my brother Jay, his wife Charme and their oldest son Kila cutting the yummy anniversary cake. Charme is a preschool teacher and has many tips helping you to prepare your preschooler for kindergarten. She also sells educational toys online. Here is her website Ms. Charme's Educational Toys and Games for Children and here is her youtube channel w/ all of her helpful videos mscharme

Aloha Flower Beaded Bracelet

Wow..it's been almost a week! Sorry I've been away from posting..I was a bit under the weather this week as well as working on a wholesale order for B-Side the Sea. Most of my newly made items have gone to her, however, here is a new item she hasn't snagged quite yet..

I was so excited to get the little Hill Tribe silver flower beads you see here..I thought they would look so happy with all the brightly colored stones.

And here are some earrings to match..

Forgotten Bead Stash!

This is what happens when I need some room on my desk and don't have time to figure out where to put stuff. Open a drawer and shove it in. I forget all about what I did and then 6 months down the road I open the drawer and find BEADS! What a cool suprise...its like I got new beads all over again! :)

Colorful Anklet and Plumeria Flower

I forgot all about this picture. I had taken a picture of this Tropical Garden Anklet already, but the picture came out a little dark. Tonight a customer was inquiring about it so I remembered this picture and sent it to her so she could get a brighter view of the beads. It came out much lighter..but what was cool about this is that the plumeria flower blew over in the wind (like they so often do when I'm trying to take pictures) and this one had some colorful stripes on the underside that aren't usually there on the flowers from this tree. I thought it was pretty so I took the picture just like it fell.

Kula Lavender Farm Pictures

Here is the first in a series of pics I took at the Kula Lavender Farm
next I'll share some of the other types of flowers there..for now these are of some of the lavender flowers as well as the cool little fuzzy looking mounds that they grow in.

This place is so pretty and in such a beautiful spot. They rent it out for functions like different types of luncheons as well as weddings. They have a handy planner page with all their prices listed to help you total up all the services they can provide. There is a gazebo set way up high so your view is spectacular. I took my picture of if from below and is was a cloudy and voggy day so this picture could have been a lot prettier on a clear day

Pile O' Gems

So this was the pile of beads I had to wade through. Not that it wasn't fun..just a lot of work! While I was working on my big corporate gifts order..and buying beads for it...(I made about 12 different bracelet styles so had to search out whatever I could find to make these big batches of each style of bracelet..not the easiest task as bead strands often vary and aren't available in large quantities) I would toss in bead strands for myself on the order that I would need for next years line of jewelry. Usually I keep up with this as the beads come in..but I was too busy..so the pile grew and grew and grew lol! I really liked this pile though..they aren't nearly as fun all put away in thier plastic compartments.
