Are you right brained or left brained?

Here are my results:

You Are 30% Left Brained, 70% Right Brained

The left side of your brain controls verbal ability, attention to detail, and reasoning.

Left brained people are good at communication and persuading others.

If you're left brained, you are likely good at math and logic.

Your left brain prefers dogs, reading, and quiet.

The right side of your brain is all about creativity and flexibility.

Daring and intuitive, right brained people see the world in their unique way.

If you're right brained, you likely have a talent for creative writing and art.

Your right brain prefers day dreaming, philosophy, and sports.

more jewelry

I'm behind on putting up new pieces..so here's a couple more for the day...

taking pictures outside

This is the best way to photograph jewelry. For one it's free (as opposed to other set ups like light boxes and that cloud dome thing..which I hope to obtain in the near future) and it brings out the natural colors in the jewelry. I rarely do this however because it's more of a hassle then it's worth right now in my situation. I usually scan my jewelry (a practice very commonly used by online jewelry shops)..it's so easy and so convenient..everything is right there were I need it. However while it gives a really good detailed picture of the piece..sometimes it inhibits certain colors or doesn't allow the reflection of some of the beatiful stones or especially mother of pearl and abalone to be seen.
My digital camera is 5+ years old and while I think it works great still, I never purchased an upgrade on the memory card so it will only hold about 12-16 pics. This doens't work out so well when I come back to upload and find out that some of the pics were blurry or what usually happens is a reflection is picked up from the tan muslin I use as a background and it causes a full on haze to go over the jewelry. I'm not quite sure what causes this as some come out this way and some don't.
My last trip outside to take jewelry...I ended up with maybe 2 usable shots. Pretty depressing after trucking out all the jewelry, the displays the backgroun cloth, the power cord (since my rechageable batteries have died.) And then they weren't as nice as I remember getting (before I knew you could scan jewelry)in the past when I only used to take pictures outside. I wonder if my camera is getting old..if that would affect it.

Here's one of the recent outside pics that turned out just okay:

and this one...I think the sun came out better for this one:

This one was taken on the same piece of wood, but inside with a bright light on it. Even though I'm not as happy as I have been in the past with the first two taken outside..I can see a bit of a difference. However I don't know if it's better or worse because the jewelry looks brighter on the outside pics..but the background too bright and kinda takes over. Perhaps I need to find someting darker to put in the background of the outside pics.

At any rate...I have A LOT to learn when it comes to photography.

I got tagged...

So I got tagged by Pink Plumeria ages ago..I'm so sorry I flaked! I didn't mean to..just no time lately :
So I guess this tagging is a blog game...here's the deal: I have to pick 5 or more of the following occupations and post my answers here. Then, I tag 3 other people to post their answers on their blog. Here are the questions:

If I could be a scientist...If I could be a farmer...If I could be a musician...If I could be a doctor...If I could be a painter...If I could be a gardener...If I could be a missionary...If I could be a chef...If I could be an architect...If I could be a linguist...If I could be a psychologist...If I could be a librarian...If I could be an athlete...If I could be a lawyer...If I could be an inn-keeper...If I could be a professor...If I could be a writer...If I could be a llama-rider...If I could be a bonnie pirate...If I could be an astronaut...If I could be a world famous blogger...If I could be a justice on any one court in the world...If I could be married to any current famous political figure...

And here are my answers...I warn you I'm not quick whitted like most bloggers:

If I could be a painter: I would be really happy to create lots of beautiful colorful things and I wouldn't have to worry about coloring in the lines or with the 'proper' color..just like doing art as a kid again..and it would be considered really cool art cuz hey I'm a "painter" ;-)

If I could be a chef: I would get to eat all those gourmet flavors I crave but rarely get to eat and I'd probably gain 20 more pounds! I would also get to spend more time with my husband because sometimes we do enjoy cooking together.

If I could be a psychologist: I would be an art therapist for children. I learned about this profession in art class when I was 16 and have always wanted to be one :)

If I could be a writer: I'd have more words to express myself then just "that would be really cool"

If I could be an astronaut: Then maybe I could join John Luc Picard on the Enterprise..or SG1 and go through the stargate! (I'm a sci fi lover)

Thank you (I think) Pink Plumeria for the tag! I have to think about who I"m tagging..you already tagged ktbug..darn! lol! I'll announce it after I take my son and his friend swimming.

**added later**
Okay..I've tagged Stefani, Josh, and Chris

Have fun guys..I'll look for your tag posts :)

Thank you ktbug!! :)

I just wanted to say thank you to ktbug for sharing some wonderful pictures of herself wearing one of Jonara Blu Maui's creations to her graduation from Dental Hygeinist school. Her wonderfully sweet hubby found out she'd been wanting this necklace and secretly purchased it for her for a grad present :) You can see the pics here

Isn't she cute? Congrats Katie!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

As far as my abscense goes...we've had a bought of sicknesses, then relapses then our freinds were moving with not much notice. Their landlord decided to sell their place and the new place they found, they had to move in within a week or they would loose it to someone else. With both of them working during the week there wasn't much time for packing. So we have been over there packing and moving and cleaning and painting. It was a lot of work..but I"m happy they are now in the same neighborhood as me :) but between that and getting ready for the craft fair we just went to..it hasn't left me much time for blogging. Hopefully I'll be able to share some new pieces soon and check out all my blogging buddies blogs as well!

update on cell phone directory

Well it turns out there is some info on this cell phone issue at Snopes. I can't get the link to work for some reason so you will just have to cut and paste this if you want to read it: http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/cell411.asp

I guess it's a voluntary thing..your cell number won't be automatically added..though I can't for the life of me imagine it being a very big directory. I mean who do you know that's waiting for the day they can get their cell number in directory that telemarketers are chomping at the bit to get their hands on? Maybe I'm not seeing the whole picture..there was too much to read in the snopes article so I skimmed over a lot of it.

At any rate..I put my numbers, including my home number in the no call directory thing..hope it works cuz I'm pretty tired of all the telemarketing calls we get everyweek.
