My Little Koi Fish Friend at the Grand Wailea

I have more pictures that I wanted to share from our stay at the Grand Wailea Resort Hotel and Spa

This was taken on the quiet side of the hotel near the self parking. My son and I were waiting for hubby to get back from parking our car since we checked out but were still allowed to enjoy the hotels amazing pools for the day.

There is a Koi pond that runs along the walk way here as well as other parts of the hotel. Its so beautiful with the orchids lining it.

I took the opportunity to have a little Koi fish photoshoot while waiting for my husband.

And this one fish seemed to like to be photographed..he kept swimming closer to me.
Hi Mr. Koi fish!

Once many years ago I had to spend a 4 hour layover in Honolulu airport. My now 17 year old son was only 2. We went down to the center area where they have a beautiful Japanese garden and Koi fish. There was a peach colored Koi that followed us to all edges of that pond..and we would slap the pond water when we went to another side and that fish would swim on over like a dolphin to be right by us and it wanted to be pet! My son was giggling so much. That made our 4 hour layover much more enjoyable. I always wanted to go back there and see that fish again..but now it's been too long, I can't imagine that he'd still be alive. Then again, I'm not sure how long Koi live.

And just like a fish, I'm left dangling on a hook... Hooked on the fantasy of indulging in a Hawaiian vacation. If I ever do make it there again I'll definitely plan on looking you up, the jewelry is gorgeous!

Thanks for stopping by on my SITS day!

embee: I hope you get to return to Hawaii some day :) But you can only find me online...I don't have a shop. Unless you just want to visit me and go to the beach or something lol!

What a great story. After being in Orlando a few weeks ago, my son wants us to put in a pond with fish. Your photos are really great. :)

I've seen that place before--is it a Hilton? I don't remember, but I know I've looked it up & flagged it as a place I want to go.

I love koi fish too...they're friendly like dogs, aren't they? LOL

Hey Jamee, you are so lucky to live in such a beautiful place. My husband and I were quite close on our honeymoon - we visited Kuai, but it was just a week after9/11 so the place was deserted which was a shame (but great for us!)
Many thanks for stopping by today, I really appreciate your visit. And I can totally see why that lady in England wants to snap your hand off for those flip flop necklaces, they are absolutely gorgeous!

The Grand Wailea has a promotion on where you join their membership program for $3000 and get a $1500 room credit PLUS half price rooms. If you're there for a vacation it pays for itself. I found it on http://www.grangwaileaclub.com which also offers another $250 bonus credit in addition to the $1500 credit!
